Announcements:
- Test for Chapter 9 Due Today at the end of the Period.
- CCSS.9-12.G.SRT.6: Understand that by similarity, side ratios in right triangles are properties of the angles in the triangle, leading to definitions of trigonometric ratios for acute angles.
- CCSS.9-12.G.SRT.7: Explain and use the relationship between the sine and cosine of complementary angles.
- CCSS.9-12.G.SRT.8: Use trigonometric ratios and the Pythagorean Theorem to solve right triangles in applied problems.

- Must be completed before: Friday, April 11th
- Overview: Part 1: This assignment teaches you how to construct perfectly straight lines in GIMP. Several tools can be used in GIMP to draw straight lines. Part 2: This part of the assignment introduces you to Layer Masks which are an important tool for creating much more complicated (advanced) photo manipulations.
- Assignment Part 1:
- Open GIMP 2.
- Open a web browser and navigate to this page:
- Read through the tutorial.
- Follow the steps in the tutorial to create an image using ONLY straight lines.
- Export the final image as “13_StraightLines.jpg”
- Assignment Part 2:
- Open a web browser and navigate to this page:
- Read through the tutorial.
- Follow the steps in the tutorial to use a Layer MASK to SELECTIVELY color two different images.
- For THIS tutorial, you will be saving your images as both GIMP files and as .jpg images so Mr. Wilcox can review your use of Layer Masks.
- Save the first image as a GIMP file named “14_LayerMask_01.xcf”, and then EXPORT the image as a .jpg file named, “14_LayerMask_01.jpg”
- Save the second image as a GIMP file named “15_LayerMask_02.xcf”, and then EXPORT the image as a .jpg file named, “15_LayerMask_02.jpg
- Assignments List HERE.
