Letter to Geometry Students and Parents

Dear Geometry Students and Parents of Geometry Students,

As we approach the final stretch of classes for the 2013-2014 school year, please be informed of the following:

Yesterday and today, students completed their Chapter 10 test.   In addition to this test, there are two more chapter tests (Chapter 11, and Chapter 12) in addition to a final exam to be completed before classes complete for the year.   The chapter tests are scheduled as follows:

Chapter 11 Test:  Monday, May 5th
Chapter 12 Test:  Thursday, May 22nd

The final exam will consist of 50 questions, distributed over two days, Wednesday May 28th, and Thursday May 29th.  With 25 questions distributed each day, students will have ample time to complete the questions thoughtfully and check their work.   Students have also been given a practice test/study (linked here) guide that contains nearly identical questions as those that will appear on the exam, and they have also been given access to an answer sheet that contains answers and explanations for each problem.   It is highly recommended that students work through each of the problems between now and May 28th.      Please also note that the final exam is a required component of the course.  If a student misses either exam day, they will have ONE opportunity to complete the exam BEFORE school on Monday, June 2nd; after this time any incomplete final exam will be recorded as a zero.

In addition to these tests students also have many homework assignments to be completed, and they are outlined on the assignment list which students have access through the class website.

As you can see, though students have come a long way this year, there is still significant work to do before the school year is out!

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Regards,
Mr. Wilcox
