**Photography**
Note: For this assignment, you'll want to spend some time searching the internet for a picture that would work well for this technique. For example, you could do a google image search for "dark foreground photo".
Alternately, you could just use THIS photo or THIS photo or THIS photo.

- Class: Friday, April 25th
- Must be completed before: Friday, May 2nd, 2014
- Overview: This tutorial demonstrates change an image to ‘Sepia’.
- Open GIMP 2.
- Open a web browser and navigate to this page:
- http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/Sepia_Toning/
- Read through the tutorial.
- Open one of your own images that you can change to black and white, or find a black and white image that you can use to change to Sepia.
- Save or export your original image (before you adjust it) to your photography folder as: “19_SepiaOriginal.jpg”
- Follow the steps in the tutorial to change the image to Sepia Tone.
- To complete this assignment, you need to create and export your adjusted image to your photography folder using the name: “19_SepiaEdited.jpg”
- Assignment #9: Fixing Blown-out Images
- Class: Friday, April 25th
- Must be completed before: Friday, May 2nd, 2014
- Overview: This tutorial demonstrates how to fix ‘blown-out’ highlights in an image.
- Open GIMP 2.
- Open a web browser and navigate to this page:

- Read through the tutorial.
- Find an image (either one of your own, or one on the internet) that could be used for this tutorial.
- Save or export your original image (before you adjust it) to your photography folder as: “20_BlownOut_Original.jpg”
- Follow the steps in the tutorial to fix a blown out area of the image.
- To complete this assignment, you need to create and export your adjusted image to your photography folder using the name: “20_BlownOutFixed.jpg”
Homework:
- Complete the above tutorials. If you are not working on the school computers, you will need to EMAIL all of the images you create to Mr. Wilcox.
