      2. Must be completed before:  May 23rd, 2014
      3. Overview:   For this assignment, you will be using multiple techniques to create a final image that is a composite of several others.
        1. Before:
          1. You will start with the following images:
            1. Beautiful-Beach-Landscape-HD.png
            2. Mike-3.png
            3. Any ‘Sky’ Image of your choice.
        2. After:
          1. 11_Final.jpg
      4. Tutorial Instructions:
        1. Open GIMP2
        2. Open each of the three images that you want to use.   The image of the man is here, the image of the dock and water is here, and you’ll need to find your own ‘sky’ image from the internet.   When you’re done, you should have three windows of GIMP2 open.
        3. Starting with the DOCK image, use the selection tools to select the sky.   Likely, you will need to use multiple types of selection tools to get this right.   Watch a video of selecting the sky HERE.
        4. Create a layer mask of the water/sky and dock:
          1. Right click on the layer →  Add layer mask
            1. Select “Selection” and “Invert Layer”
          2. View a video HERE:
        5. Create a new later:
          1. Select LAYER →  NEW LAYER
        6. Open the SKY Image:
          1. Select SELECT → SELECT ALL
          2. Select EDIT → CUT
        7. Now, paste the sky image into the new layer that you added to the dock image.
        8. Use the SCALE tool to make the image so that it fills the whole background, then right-click on the layer and select “Anchor layer”.
          1. The image will now be ‘in front’ of the dock, so you need to drag the layer so it is below the dock photo.
        9. Add the MAN to the dock.
          1. Open the image of the man.
          2. Use the selection tool to select the white area around the man, then Right-click, and select “Select inverse”
          3. From the Edit Menu, select “Cut”.
          4. Now, go back to the image of the dock, and insert a new layer.
            1. Then, from the edit menu, select “Paste”.
            2. The man should now be pasted into the image.
            3. Use the scale tool to adjust the size of the man correctly, and then use the position tool to position him on the dock.
          5. When you are done, from the layer menu, select ANCHOR LAYER.
        10. Export your image as “22_Man on Dock.jpg”
